Beginner terrain open: 15%
Expert terrain open: 10%
Comments: Today is opening day!!! Wolf Creek Ski Area will celebrate its earliest opening ever with 65 inches of snowfall from September and October! Wolf Creek Ski Area is reporting an all-natural snow depth of 20 inches at the midway and 31 inches at summit. Early season conditions do exist. Treasure, Bonanza and Nova lifts will open at 8:30 AM while construction continues on the new Raven Lift. Montezuma Bowl east to Step Bowl and Alberta Face will be open to experts; 10% intermediate terrain is open along with 5% of the Beginner Trails. The ski school, rental, sport shop, Wolf Pup Building, Wolf Creek Lodge (the main day lodge) and the Pathfinder Bar will also be open. Lift Tickets will be $25.00 to Adults; $15.00 to Seniors and Children for this weekend. Ski the Most Snow in Colorado at Wolf Creek!

Colo. takes two spots on hot destinations list

I certainly understand Vail, as it's one of our household favourite spots to visit. Breckenridge? What am I missing? The streets are crowded even in the summer and parking is near impossible. It's certainly not a destination on my radar when I want to head to the high country.

We "might" get up to 5 inches of snow. We'll see. As long as it snows in the high country, all is well.

I-70 and the Future

I'd really hope they'd be meeting even more and apparently not. There is always lots of discussion and arguments regarding how to best address the congestion issues that plague the I-70 corridor from Denver to the west. Yet, no one has come out with a solid proposal or suggestion that the nay-sayers don't immediately dismiss. Hopefully cool, reasonable heads will prevail in this important issue.

Ski season to begin Friday: "SUMMIT COUNTY - Arapahoe Basin will open up for the 2006-2007 on Friday, the earliest opening for A-Basin since it started operating 60 years ago."

Safe Biking...

While I certainly get the interest here in safe biking, I can’t help but wonder about the misplaced concern.  Is it really the city’s responsibility or could it be the cyclist’s responsibility to look both ways before crossing the street?  Inquiring minds want to know… 

BRECKENRIDGE Councilmember Eric Mamula expressed concern that it's only a matter of time before a cyclist dies crossing the busy intersection near City Market.
