Chris Locke The unlikely story of how America slipped the surly bonds of earth & came to believe in signs & portents that would make the middle ages blush
I like the pictures of a 1913 Denver blizzard that Flickr user etching has posted in his stream. (Just in his stream, not grouped, unfortunately.) It's a kind of silent editorial on the thousands and thousands of pics of the current mess. I didn't know that the buried car shot was actually a hundred years old, but I suspected as much. And I wish people still sledded down 8th Ave.
iChat Can’t Connect? Getting the Dreaded “User Has Declined Your Invitation” or Error -8? Here’s Why!: "Are you one of those people for whom iChat audio and video chatting used to work, but suddenly it has stopped working, for no apparent reason? Are you getting 'user has declined your invitation' or 'communications error' errors, or maybe even the dreaded 'error -8'? Have you changed nothing at all on your end, but suddenly you simply can't audio chat or video chat with some people - or maybe anybody?
Well, you're not alone."

We often think about the gas stations and grocery stores and the lack of supplies after storms. This is a great reminder.
Blood banks, hospitals try to replenish supply after storm: "DENVER (AP) - Blood supplies were running below normal at Colorado hospitals after last week's blizzard kept donors away, and the state's primary blood-collection agency said its supplies have fallen by nearly half."
We all know giving is better than receiving, but receiving is pretty freaking rad too, especially when you've been passing around Engadget gift guides to the fam. And now, as we ask every year: what'd you get this holiday season?
